The mission of Avant-Art! is to provide freedom.

At Avant-Art! we provide our customers freedom from the mundane, ordinary greeting card choices available through off-the-rack mass producers of greetings. We provide an avenue through which expression can be given life, emotion can be portrayed, and sentiment expressed in creative, inimitable ways.

Avant-Art! provides freedom for artists, as well; we give freedom through opportunity to artists with disabilities, artists who are students and artists who have limited means by which to gain exposure.

At Avant-Art! we provide our artists and writing staff the freedom to redefine what greeting cards should be.

At Avant-Art! we provide the opportunity for our customers to not only give a creative, unique greeting, but to potentially realize financial gain from their gift. Should the artist or artists who create the gift rise to attain a measure of renown (a number of our artists have already done so), the artwork will likely have risen in value.

Avant-Art! is devoted to providing opportunity to those with limited means by which to avail themselves of these opportunities, most notably artists with disabilities.

Avant-Art! is the creation and passion of our head writer, published author Mr. Jim VanderMeer, who launched Avant-Art! on July 4, 2004 for good reason: to provide customers freedom from the mundane greeting card selection, and artists freedom from the burden imposed by lack of exposure in the marketplace.
